Autumnal plans

For some reason, we often receive a burst of warmer weather around our Autumnal equinox. Today certainly feels like summer still wants to hang about. However, the equinox is not very far away and we have a new moon tonight.

In our household, we're busy finishing off as much bookwork as possible, ready for a relaxing and thoughtful break over the Passover season. I really like to spend as much quiet time as possible then. Everything seems to just slow down with a meaningful calm, and we gather with those of like mind to discuss, learn and ponder.

The earth almost sighs at this time too. I know that it's just coming into Spring in the northern hemisphere where life is springing forth, but here it's becoming restful and inviting thought.  Often, we spend many hours just sitting outside with no agenda.  Just peaceful ponderings.

Are we planning anything else, in particular, over Autumn? Well, collecting lots of Autumn colour and some art activities for sure. It's a fun time to take walks to collect seed pods from native trees and make leaf pressings.

Out in the garden we'll be planning out a small patch of earth in which we'll sow peas, carrots and spinach. I'll also be taking some rose and lavender cuttings, plus anything else I may decide on the spur of the moment. The fruit trees are all done with filling our fruit bowls, so they need pruning also.

Hoping many others are looking forward to a peaceful time and a lovely Autumn.

I adore Autumn, it's like Australia lets out a collective sigh of relief that another Summer has passed.

Enjoy your gardening and we'll join you in the peaceful ponderings.
