We seemed to start the day late, getting sidetracked into other business ... yes, it was learning, but 'unscheduled', lol! Then when we did get started, we only had 30mins before my Mum came over for a few hours visit. In that time the children still managed to work to finish more bookwork. I helped Mum by taking some lovely old books off her hands.
Then it was lunch all together, more chatting, tea drinking, and dishes. Mum left and we did the read-alouds.
Our read-aloud time is doubling for quiet game time for Maestro, now. A few years ago I'd bought a game from the children's museum (Scienceworks). The game is called Tantrix. I thought that perhaps I was the only one who enjoyed this game, but finally it's drawn the children's attention.
Maestro rediscovering Tantrix yesterday. It's suddenly become popular.
Uh oh, look what I also just found .. Tantrix online. I might wait a while before showing this to the children and let them enjoy what they're using for now.
So, read alouds all done. Bookwork all done. Mariposa worked on making a bookmark for a penpal. Maestro did some violin practice and I was able to sit quietly for an hour and cross stitch ... in the middle of the day!! Again, I really don't know how we managed that today, but I'm really glad we did.
Started in October 2009, I'm hoping to finish this for Mariposa's birthday in August.

Hi Alecat,
What a beautiful cross stitch - what a clever Mum you are!
I'm hoping to teach my daughter to long stitch in the holidays, which should be different, as I haven't done it before. :P
Have a wonderful weekend,
Blessings,
Jillian ♥
Your Cross Stitch is beautiful. Lucky you in finding some time for it.
