I know the floods in Queensland and Northern New South Wales are affecting many people. We've made contact with friends and family in the areas worst hit, and they are all safe.
Speaking to my brother-in-law this afternoon, he informed us that the excess water isn't just affecting the actual river. The ground water has built up on the hillier areas so that springs are coming up. They have one under their house at the moment and are making do with a make-shift pump to move the water out. Thankfully the house has been re-stumped recently, but we hope that all will stay safe and we don't have another incident similar to Thredbo disaster in 1997.
Here are some pictures sent by email from my brother-in-law. The first shows the street where he works.

Wow, I just can't imagine what that's going to be like for those people in the months ahead. I'm glad your BIL is safe!
In a strange way it is awesome to watch the power of nature at work but the clean up & all the displaced people are not so nice.
Oh GOODNESS! I am so glad your family members and friends are safe!
It is devastating and awesome all at once. We are almost overwhelmed with the latest developments....except we have the Lord's comfort and promises!
It's terrible! Glad your family members are safe though. We are praying........
