Crisp mornings and blue skies

It was such a lovely sunny day yesterday, with cloudless skies, that it could only mean one thing last night ... very cold and frost! I think we'll definitely be having a repeat of that again today.

The poppies Mariposa planted a few months ago looked like they were covered in jewels this morning.

The birdbath was encrusted with ice, which the children enjoyed picking off to see the patterns. Cold fingers for them, but I just kept clutch of the camera and a hot cuppa. :)

Winter is a very quiet time in my garden. Almost everything is dormant, but there are a few signs of life with the rhubarb.

The only flowering bush at the moment is the rosemary

and our first daffodil is almost ready to burst open.

My poor garden is waterlogged. It has just rained & rained & rained this winter. The celery loves it but nearly everything else has curled up its toes & done a swandive. :(

I am enjoying going through your backposts & leaving random comments! ☺

Alecat I notice the synchronicity of our postings today!! :) Yet we have had no frost and our daffodils are in bloom and their heads are bobbing beautifully on these sunshiney days.

Sending you a warm smile from Adelaide.

It's nice to enjoy my favorite season virtually, while swabbing the humidity off my forehead ;).

Our daffodils are not quite in flower, but it won't be long.

It looks just as cold where you are, as it is here.
Blessings,
