Symphony under the Stars

The last weekend of February, or first in March, is the annual "Symphony under the Stars" . We've enjoyed going to these for three years now, managing to get a great view of the orchestra. We take along our picnic dinner, meet up with friends, and enjoy! :)

This is a photo taken from our picnic blanket:

We love the family environment. The children usually gather right up the front, dancing away.

This year's program introduced us to some pieces we've not heard before, as well as a couple of favourites.

Franz von Suppe' - Overture to The Beautiful Galathea
Charles Gounod - Ballet Music from Faust
Edvard Grieg - Peer Gynt Suite No. 1

Interval was followed by a guest appearance by Deborah Conway and Willy Zygier
performing - Something's Right, Here and Now
then 2 numbers from an album in the making.

Followed by:
Frederick Delius - The Walk to the Paradise Garden
Georges Bizet - L'Aresienne Suite 1 and 2

What a lovely way to spend an evening!

Sounds beautiful Alecat. I must say I am a little envious.
