The alarm was set for 5:30am.
Jupiter has been visible with the naked eye, with it's moons, Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto, clearly visible also. A pair of binoculars made it even more spectacular. Jupiter is passing Earth, the closest passing in 47 years.

Look to the west, before dawn, if you'd like to see Jupiter. It's following the moon.
Then (but wait, there's more!), wait until dawn arrives to watch Mercury rising in the east. Again, see HERE for information.
We're going to try and keep this appointment again for tomorrow morning, hoping that the clouds dissipate a bit more for a better view of the east.
