Science program supporting Apologia General

Last night, our local television station aired a BBC program titled "The Story of Science". It was on at a later hour, but we allowed Maestro to watch some of it with us. Very interesting! It was like watching his Apologia General Science chapters come to life on the screen. In many ways it was abbreviated (of course, the book is always better!), but other information was expounded upon a little.

This is worth checking out for high school students. Our local suppliers won't have the dvds in until they modify the program to Region 4. Meanwhile, we have the program airing on SBS2 at 8:30pm, Thursdays.

Watched it too! I love the idea that science is not just one person having a brilliant idea - it's "standing on the shoulders of giants", collecting evidence, building up "knowledge".

Ooh, I'll be tuning in this week! Sounds great - my older 2 are doing General Science this year too and loving it. Thanks for the heads up! x

Ingi, I thought you may have caught this program, too. :)

Mel, happy to give the heads up.

I've been looking around online for a copy of the dvd to buy, or at least ask our ever-helpful librarians if they'll consider putting it on their purchase list. I can only find it in Region 2, still. Hopefully the SBS store will have Region 4 in a month or so.
