Giant crystal cave found in Mexico

After our church services today, a friend shared an email received about some giant crystals found in Mexico. We were all amazed with the beauty and size, so I just had to share. These were discovered in 2000 and are some of the largest natural crystals ever found.

There are writeups on the National Geographic site here and here.

Go here for the BBC report with video of footage taken inside the cave.

I think there's a huge cave up near Rockhampton (or somewhere) that has such incredible acoustics so that choirs go to sing...

Hmmm... sorry, I can't remember where I first heard about it, or even if I've got my facts straight!

Lauren, that sounds fabulous. I'll have to investigate and see what information I can pull.

There are beautiful limestone caves just north of Rockhampton. (I have a few pics on my blog if you go to Wonders of Creation in the labels in the side bar.) One cave is called Cathedral Cave and has been set up as a little chapel where they hold concerts and weddings! Appartently the acoustics are stunning. I have been in it on a tour and one of the children sang but have not actually heard a choir there.
Marvels of God's Creation!!!
