A day at the races : billy carts

Serious billy cart racers enjoyed a day at our local University campus today, in spite of the cold and occassional rain.  The main road running around the campus was blocked off, making the long stretch down and around the hill available for the race.
We showed up too late to enter, but watched the final heat.  There were some pretty serious billy carts there!!

Three finalists at the starting line.

Lots of wholesome family fun, with petting zoos, jumping castles and all the other things that go with a fete were all on location.
Afterward, we couldn't resist taking our billy cart for a spin, only to find that ours really does need new wheels.  So, we'll work on it and be prepared for next year's race down the hill!
