Everything has been thriving. We have flowers in abundance, with their wonderful fragrance wafting into the house on the breeze. I like how the trees flower in succession: first the Pittosporum, the Lilac, and now the Native Frangipani. We also have plenty of weeds, which (let's face it) is just real life. I never have enough time to do all that I want to do, but we do what we can, when we can.
Something is better than nothing.
This is the only patch of ground that got weeded this time around.
So, after finishing off a small sewing project, completing a kitchen stocktake and then shopping for a fortnight's worth of supplies, then lunch, I set out to enjoy a few hours of gardening.
Our beautiful bay tree, underplanted with roses and various bulbs, violets and allysum.
Those weeds were no effort to pull at all. It was more the trecking back to dump it all into the chook run that took time. I began loading up empty washing baskets with weeds and then requested Maestro to quickly do the dispensing for me. He'd already done a great job mowing the verge; his help meant I could do my task quicker.
This crimson pelargonium is just beautiful near the front step.
Then, hello! A thunderstorm. Gardening stopped in a quick dash to rescue the washing off the line. LOL! I used the baskets for the weeds, so all hands on deck to grab armloads as quickly as possible.
Red poppies in the centre bed, under the Frangipani tree.
Jasmine growing over the arch.
Lavender, irises, lilac and a buddleia in the background.
Back at the front porch, we watch the rain soak over the garden again, enhancing the vibrant colours of the flowers. It's all so refreshing. I know that there's still a lot of work to do out there, but I'm happy to see that what SHOULD be growing there is doing so well.
From the front porch, looking right.
The black cockatoos enjoy visiting the hakea tree near the fence.
We're going to put some sunflowers to grow in the central bed, along with some herbs and probably a scattering of more flower seeds. Let's fill it up with abundance! It's a great time to get sowing, and it's a lovely sight to drink in from the front porch. ☺

Looking lovely. We are getting lots of little storms and showers, too, which is great for keeping my weeds looking green:-)
Loved looking at the pictures of your garden!
