We've had a wonderful amount of rain lately, but apparantly it's caused some havoc with the phone lines. Service men have been working up and down the street regularly and tinkering with this and that, but as of Thursday, this has left us without a phoneline working. It's most frustrating!!
So, if you're family or friend and trying to contact us, please try the mobile. I'm really hoping this is all sorted really soon. Thankfully the library has a free internet service, so I'm making use of it today for 15mins. :)
Meanwhile, we do have some news. The eggs Kelly was sitting on have been reduced by two. We believe this is because they'd been damaged somehow (perhaps too many eggs under the one hen?), but they've been cleaned away and the only evidence were a few tiny pieces of shell.
Then, today, a lovely surprise. One chick has hatched already!! A little black Australorp we've decided to name "Sunday", since it's the day it hatched. We were told they'd all hatch on the 21st/22nd, but this little one must have already been happily growing before we'd picked it up. I'll share the photos when our phoneline is back up.
