A floral welcome

It was very late when we arrived home from our trip, but in the morning were some lovely surprises to welcome us in the garden.
Both buddleias and the apple myrtle all in full bloom. I just had to pick some to put on the dining table tonight. Here's the apple myrtle looking glorious.

The fruit trees are coming into season also. There are still raspberries forming on the bushes (although I've been told my young nephew enjoyed them immensely whilst helping his mum house-sit for us) and Mariposa picked a basketful of plums. The apricots are doing poorly this year. Either I pruned the tree to hard in winter or it's just one of those 'off' years. Still, we've picked a handful. No apricot jam this year, unfortunately, but hopefully a few good jars of plum.

From the vegie patch we picked some silverbeet and lettuce, plus 3 tomatoes. The gormet potatoes are coming into flower also. Tomorrow I'll need to pile some more straw mulch on top to ensure they don't green up.
